Dear JWSD Customer,
For the past 6 weeks we have experienced hot, dry weather with no relief in sight. Most of Ohio is in a drought condition similar to last summer, and the lack of rain is causing an increase in customer water demand due to extra outdoor watering.
The water treatment plant is currently being challenged to keep up with our customer’s water demand. Water in our elevated towers has decreased and it has been difficult to get them adequately refilled. We are asking every JWSD customer to reduce outdoor watering as much as possible. Stopping all outdoor watering is our preference, but reducing outdoor watering to only one day a week while we get through this hot spell would be greatly appreciated.
If we don’t get outdoor watering reduced voluntarily, we may need to issue a mandatory outdoor watering ban for the entire District. This is a last resort, so we would appreciate your voluntary cooperation.
