Jefferson Water and Sewer District (JWSD) is seeking a Water Plant Operator I to join our Operations Department and become a member of an exciting and dynamic organization. JWSD provides water and sanitary sewer services to more than 4,500 customers located within

Jefferson Township, Ohio. JWSD was created in 1987 to provide and control centralized water and sewer services to the Township, thus allowing Jefferson Township to remain a local government where residents that actively participate can make a difference.

The Water Plant Operator I is responsible for monitoring, operating, and controlling water treatment/processing equipment within the water treatment plant. An Operator I administers, operates, and monitors the mechanical and analytical systems pertinent to water treatment and control at the water treatment plant. Also monitors and performs water sampling at system entry to the water plant and within the distribution system and performs laboratory testing of water samples for compliance, adjusts water treatment chemical levels to meet treatment goals and regulatory requirements, and ensures compliance with state and federal regulatory requirements.

The Water Plant Operator I reports to the Operations Manager. General working hours are Monday-Friday, 7:30am-4:00pm with occasional overtime. This position participates in an oncall rotation that also includes some weekends.
